CUSTOMS
New Delhi , the 12th December 1968
G.S.R. 2180.-In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section ( 1 ) of section 25 of the Customs Act , 1962 ( 52 of 1962 ) , the Central Government , being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do , hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue and Insurance ) , G.S.R. 1173 , dated the 19th June , 1968 :-
In the Table annexed to the said notification, in column 2 headed " Description of articles " , against Sl . No. 4 , for item No. ( ii ) the following item shall be substituted . namely:-
" ( ii ) Jute manufactures whose F.A.S. value is in excess of the F.A.S. value of Hessian of 40 " x 10 ozs . by not less than Rs . 1,500 per tonne , excluding carpet backing , Jute webbing , Jute canvas , Jute tarpaulin cloth and manufactures thereof.
