NOTIFICATIONS
New Delhi, the nth January 1969
S.O. 270—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Export (Quality Control and Inspection), Act, 1963 (22 of 1963) and after consultation with the Export Inspection Council and after previous publication as required by sub-rule (2) of rule 11 of the Export (Quality Control and Inspection) Rules, 1964, the Central Government hereby:—
(1) notifies that hessian bags shall be subject to quality control and
Inspection prior to export;
(2) specifies the type of inspection in accordance with the Export of Hessian Bags (Inspection) Rules, ~ 1968, as the type of inspection which will be applied to such hessian bags prior to their exports;
(3) recognises the Indian Standard IS:3790—1966 for hessian bags issued by the Indian Standards Institution as the standard specification (or hessian bags; and
(4) prohibits the export, in the course of international trade of hessian bags unless a mark or seal recognised by the Central Government has been affixed or applied to bales of such hessian bags.
2. Nothing in this Notification shall apply to the export by sea, land or air of samples of hessian bags to prospective buyers.
3. In this Notification, "hessian bags" means hessian bags of the type as described in the Indian Standard namely. Hessian bags IS:3790—1986.
4. This Notification shall come into force on the 27th February 1969.
80 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3(ii)]S.O. 27L—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 of the Export (Quality Control and Inspection) Act, 1963 (22 of 1963), and after previous publi- cation as required by sub-rule (2) of rule 11 of the Export (Quality Control and Inspection) Rules, 1964. the Central Government hereby recognises the Indian Standards Institution Certification Marks with respect to the hessian bags for the purpose of denoting that where the bales containing hessian bags are affixed with such mark, the hessian bags in such bales conform to the standard specification applicable thereto under clause (c) of section 6 of the said Act.
Explanation.—In this Notification, "hessian bags'' means hessian bags of the type as described in the Indian Standard namely, Hessian Bags—IS:3790—1966-

8.O. 212.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 17 of the Export (Quality Control and Inspection) Act, 1963 (22 of 1963), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely:—
1. Short title and commencement.—(1) These rules may be called the Export of Hessian Bags (Inspection) Rules, 1969.
(2) They shall come into force on the 17th February, 1969. 2. Definition.—In these rules, "hessian bags" means hessian bags of the type as described In the Indian Standard, namely, Hessian Bags IS:3790—1966.
3. Procedure of inspection of hessian bags prior to export.—The provisions of the Indian Standard Institution (Certification Marks) Act, 1952 (36 of 1952), rhe Indian Standards Institution (Certification Marks) Rules, 1955, and the Indian Standards; Institution (Certification Marks) Regulations, 1955, shall, so far as may be, apply to the inspection of hessian bags prior to export.
