New Delhi , the 24th January 1969
G.S.R. 168. In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section ( 1 ) of section 25 of the Customs Act . 1962 ( 52 of 1962 ) , and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance ( late Department of Revenue ) No. 176- Customs , dated the 23rd December , 1964 , the Central Government , being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do , hereby exempts the goods specified in the Table annexed hereto , when imported into India in a commercially pure form from-
(a ) so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is speci- fied in the First Schedule to the Indian Tariff Act , 1934 ( 32 of 1934 ) , as is in excess of 10 per cent ad valorem , where the standard rate of duty leviable ; and is
(b) the whole of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the aforesaid First Schedule , where the preferential rate of duty is leviable :
Provided that nothing contained in this notification shall apply to any patent or proprie- tary preparation containing any of the goods specified in the said Table as an ingredient thereof.

G.S.R. 169.- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section ( 1) of section 25 of the Customs Act , 1962 ( 52 of 1962 ) , the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do , hereby makes the following amendment in the Notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue and Insurance ) No. 136 - Customs , dated the 30th December , 1967 , namely :-
In the Schedule annexed to the said Notification , after Serial No. 3 and the entries rela- ting thereto , the following shall be inserted , namely :-
"4. Parathion
O -O -Diethyl - O - p - nitrophenyl phosphorothioate.
5. 2 , 4 -D
2, 4 dichlorophenoxy acetic acid, and its esters and salts.
6EDCT
Ethylene (3 : 1 ) . dichloride - carbon tetrachloride Mixture
7. Wettable sulphur .
