IMPORT TRADE CONTROL
New Delhi , the 14th February 1969
SUBJECT - Import Policy for Registered Exporters for the period ' April 1968- March 1969 ' .
No. 35 - ITC ( PN ) / 69 .--Attention is invited to paragraph 16 in Section 1 of the Import Trade Control Policy ( Red Book- Vol . II ) for the period ' April 1968- March 1969 ' , accordingto which items of import ( except those specifically exclud- ed) asked for on the strength of an actual user licence will be generally allowed provided they are permissible to actual users under the current policy ( i.e. if they have been shown as ' A.U' , ' A.U. on restricted basis' , or 'AU . for export production only ' ) .
2. In this connection , it may be clarified that, under the aforesaid provision , a registered exporter or his nominee cannot ask for any item on the basis of his Actual User licence if the import of such item is canalised through the STC / MMTC or any other agency in accordance with the current import policy .

Under the import policy for Registered Exporters , ' canalised ' items released in the manner stated in paragraph 19 in Section I of the said Red Boot , only if such items are permissible under the policy and are required for the manu- facture of exported product or , in the case of nominee of the Registered Exporter , these are required for the manufacture of a part , component or material used in the exported product on the basis of which the nomination has been made .
