CENTRAL EXCISES
New Delhi , the 20th March 1968
G.S.R. 849. In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - rule ( 1 ) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules , 1944 the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance ( Department of Revenue and Insurance ) No. 72/ 69 - Central Excises dated the 1st March , 1969 , namely : --
In the said notification for the Explanation , the following Explanation shall be subtituted , namely: -
"Explanation. For the purposes of this notification , ' Fents ' means-
( a) genuine cut - pieces of cotton fabrics ( excluding cut - pieces of towels ) of 92 centimetres or more but not exceeding 1.5 metres in length arising during the normal course of manufacturing or processing or packing or drawing samples;
(b) cut - pieces of 92 centimetres or more but not excceding 1.5 metres in length cut from damaged dhoties or sarees ; and

( c) damaged cotton fabrics of 92 centimetres or more but not exceeding 1.5 metres in length ( excluding damaged towels of 92 centimetres or more ) ."

No. 12 /97 / 68 - CXII . ] G.S.R. 850.- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - rule ( 1 ) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules , 1944 read withwith sub - section ( 3 ) of section 3 of the Addi- tional Duties of Excise ( Goods of Special Importance ) Act , 1957 ( 58 of 1957 ) , the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in the notifica- tion of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance ( Department of Revenue and Insurance ) No. 91/69 - Central Excises , dated the 1st March , 1969 , namely: -
In the said notification , for the Explanation , the following Explanation shall be substituted , namely:---
"Explanation . For the purposes of this notification , ' F'ents' means-
(a) genuine cut-pieces of cotton fabrics ( excluding cut- pieces of towels) of 92 centimetres or more but not exceeding 1.5 metres in length arising during the normal course of manufacturing or processing or packing or drawing samples ;
(b ) cut - pieces of 92 centimetres or more but not exceeding 1.5 metres in length cut from damaged dhoties or sarees ; and
(c) damaged cokon fabrics of 92 centimetres or more but not exceeding 1.5 metres is length ( excluding damaged towels of 92 centimetres or more ) . "

सा० फा ० मि० 851.-केन्द्रीय उत्पाद्- शुल्क नियम 1944 के नियम 8 के उपनियम ( 1 ) द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए केन्द्रीय सरकार भारत सरकार के वित्त मंत्रालय (राजस्व और बीमा विभाग ) की अधिसूचना सं ० 72/69 तारीख पहली मार्च 1969 में एतद् द्वारा निम्नलिखित संशोधन करती है अर्थात्ः-
एगा उक्त अधिसूचना में स्पष्टीकरण के लिए निम्नलिखित स्पष्टीकरण प्रतिस्थापित किया अर्थात्:-
"स्पष्टीकरण: इस अधिसूचना के प्रयोजनों के लिए "टुकड़ों" से निम्नलिखित अभिप्रेत है:-
(क) सूती फैब्रिक के ( तोलियों के टुकड़ों को छोड़ कर ) लम्बाई में 92 सें ० मी० या उससे अधिक किन्तु 1.5 मीटर से अधिक के असली टुकड़े जो विनिर्माण या प्रसंस्करण या पैकिंग या नमूने निकालने के प्रसामान्य अनुक्रम में निकले हों, SEC. 3 ( 1 ) ] THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY

क्षल धोतियों या साड़ियों में से कटे हुए लम्बाई में 92 सें ० मी ० या उससे अधिक किन्तु 1.5 मीटर से अधिक के टुकड़े तथा
(ग ) लम्बाई में 92 सें ० मी० या उससे अधिक किन्तु 1.5 मीटर से अनधिक के क्षत सूती फैब्रिक ( 92 सें ० मी० या उससे अधिक के क्षत तोलियों को छोड़ कर ) । " [ सं ० 101/69 -के ० उ ० फा ० सं ० 12/ 97/68- के उ०-2 ]
सा० का० ति०852. अतिरिक्त उत्पाद शुल्क ( विशेष महत्व का माल ) अधिनियम 1957 (1957 का 58 ) की धारा 3 की उप- धारा ( 3 ) के साथ पठित केन्द्रीय उत्पाद्- शुल्क नियम 1944 के नियम 8 के उपनियम ( 1 ) द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियो का प्रयोग करते हुए केन्द्रीय सरकार भारत सरकार के वित्त मंत्रालय ( राजस्व और बीमा विभाग ) की अधिसूचना सं० 91/69 तारीख पहली मार्च 1969 में एतद्वारा निम्नलिखित संशोधन करती है अर्थात्:-
उक्त अधिसूचना में स्पष्टीकरण के लिए निम्नलिखित स्पष्टीकरण प्रतिस्थापित किय जाएगा , अर्थात्-

( ग ) लम्बाई में 92 सें मी या उससे अधिक किन्तु 1.5 मीटर से अनधिक के क्षत सूती फनिक ( 92 सें मी या उससे अधिक के क्षत तौलियों को छोड़ कर ) । "
