The following Act of Parliament received the assent of the Vice- President acting as President on the 19th May, 1969, and is hereby pub- lished for general information: —
THE ESTATE DUTY (DISTRIBUTION) AMENDMENT
ACT, 1969
No. 15 OF 1969
[19th. May, 1969]
An Act further to amend the Estate Duty [Distribution] Act, 1962.
BE it enacted by Parliament in the Twentieth Year of the Republic of India as follows: —
Short 1. (i) This Act may be called the Estate Duty (Distribution) Amend- ment Act, 1969.

(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of April, 1969.

Amend- ment of long title.
2. In the long title of the Estate Duty (Distribution) Act, 1962 (here- inafter referred to as the principal Act), for the figures, letters and words "12th day of August, 1965", the figures, letters and words "31st day of October, 1968" shall be substituted.
128 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART II - SEC. 2] the figures, letters and words "1st day of April, 1969," shall be substituted; (b) for the words "two per cent.", the words "three per cent." shall be substituted;(ii) in sub-seotion (2), for clause (b) a nd the provisos occurring at the end of that clause, the following clause shall be substituted, namely: —
"(b) the balance shall be distributed among the States as follows: —
