NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 23rd August 1069
S.O. 3392.—The ceremony of assumption of office of the President by Shri Varahagiri Venkata Giri, the President-elect, will take place in the Central Hall (Parliament House) at 9.00 A.M. on Sunday, 24th August, 1969.
For this ceremony, there will assemble in the Central Hall, the Prime Minis- ter and other Ministers, the Acting Chief Justice, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Heads of Diplomatic Missions, Members of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, the Lt. Governor of Delhi, the principal Civil and Military Officers of the Govern- ment of India and the Armed Forces.
2. The Oath of Office will be taken by the President-elect in the presence of the Acting Chief Justice as prescribed by the Constitution. A salute of 31 guns will be fired. The President will deliver an address, The President and the Chief Justice of India will then leave the Central Hall (Parliament House).
3. Uniforms will be worn by officers of the Defence Services and the Police, Civilian officers attending the ceremony will wear formal dress.
