NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 22nd August 1969
G.S.R. 2051.—Whereas the Central Government is of the opinion that it is necessary so to do for controlling the rise in prices, and for preventing the hoarding, of paddy and rice in Tamil Nadu :
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3A) of section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955), the Central Govern- ment hereby directs that notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (3) of the said section 3, the price at which paddy or rice shall be sold in any locality in Tamil Nadu in compliance with an Order made with reference to clause (f) of sub-section (2) of the said section 3 shall be regulated in accordance with the provisions of the said sub-section (3A).
Explanation.—For the purposes of clause (iii) of the said sub-section (3A) "controlled price" shall mean the prices fixed for pady and rice under the Madras Paddy (Maximum Prices) Order. 1968 and the Madras Rice (Maximum Prices) Order, 1968 respectively.
2. This notification shall remain in force for a period of three months.
