NOTIFICATION
New Delhi , the 10th September 1969
S.O. 3743. In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section ( 1 ) of section 412 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 (44 of 1958 ) , read with sub- rule ( 2 ) of rule 7 of the Control of Shipping ( Rates ) Rules , 1949 , continued in force by clause ( a) of sub - section ( 3 ) of section 461 of the said Act , and in supersession of all the previous notifications on the subject , the Central Government hereby fixes , with effect from the 10th September , 1969 , the rate mentioned in any of the columns ( 2 ) to ( 18 ) of the Schedule appended to this notification as the rate which may be charged by any ship engaged in the coasting trade of India for the carriage of a passenger from a port mentioned in column ( 1 ) thereof to any of the ports mentioned in the said columns ( 2 ) to ( 18 ) and vice versa .
2. The rate for the carriage of a passenger in De lux A class or De lux B class 'shall be fifty per cent , or , as the case may be , twenty - five per cent . over and above the rate for Cabin class mentioned in any of the columns ( 2 ) to ( 18 ) of the said schedule ; the rate shall be rounded to the nearest five paise .
3. A child between three and twelve years shall be charged half the rate , round- ed to the nearest five paise .
