NOTIFICATION
New Delhi , the 8th October 1969
S.O. 4157. Whereas difficulties with regard to the export of tea have arisen on account of the inability of the exporters to produce a valid export licence for such export ;
And whereas the Central Government is satisfled that it is necessary so to do in the public interest ;
Now , therefore , in exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section ( 1 ) of sec- tion 48 of the Tea Act , 1953 ( 29 of 1953 ) , the Central Government hereby relaxes , with effect from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette and upto and including the 7th day of November , 1969 , the operation of the provisions of sections 17 and 18 of the said Act on condition that export of tea shall be allowed during the said period on production of a letter by the exporter undertaking to produce the export licence from the Tea Board within a period of three months from the date of shipment of the consignment of tea .
