NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 28th October 1969

S.O. 4426.—Whereas for the development of the export trade of India certain proposals for amending the notification of the Government of India in the late Ministry of Commerce No. S.O. 771, dated the 6th March, 1965, were published as required by sub-rule (2) of rule 11 of the Export (Quality Control and Inspection) Rules 1964, at pages 721-722 of the Gazette of India—Part II—Section 3—Sub-Section (ii) Extraordinary, dated the 5th June, 1969, under the notifica- tion of the Government of India in the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Supply (Department of Foreign Trade) No. S.O. 2244, dated the 5th June, 1969;

And whereas objections and suggestions were invited till the 4th July. 1969, from all persons likely to be affected thereby;

And whereas the said Gazette was made available to the public on the 5th June, 1969;

And whereas no objections or suggestions have been received from the public on the said draft;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Export (Quality and Inspection) Act. 1963 (22 of 1963), the Central Government being of the opinion that it is necessary and expedient so to do for the development of ( 1 3 9 5) 1396 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3(li)]

the export trade of India, hereby makes the following amendment to the notifica- tion of the Government of India in the late Ministry of Commerce No. S.O 771, dated the 6th March, 1965, namely:—

In the Annexure to the said notification, under the heading "(B) SPECIFI- CATIONS FOR PRAWNS (SHRIMPS) CANNED IN BRINE OR DRY PACKED", for clause (Ib) of Note (4) and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be dttibstituted, namely:—

"(b) Drained weight

T4'

Tiny, 4 oz. d,w.

Tiny, 4J oz. d.w. "T5'

Tiny, 5 oz. d.w. In the case of other types of pack, the exact drained weight shall be embossed m the can,"

This notification shall come into force on 28th November, 1969.
