G.S.R. 72.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of sec-

tion 1 of the Punjab Legislative Council (Abolition) Act, 1969 (46 of 1969), the

Central Government hereby appoints the 7th day of January, 1970, as the date

on which the said Act shall come into force,
