CENTRAL EXCISES

New Delhi, the 24th January 1970

G.S.R. 155.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Centra) Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Excise Rules, 1944, namely: —

1. (1) These rules may be called the Central Excise (Third Amendment) Rules, 1970.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Central Excise Rules 1944, In sub-rule (2) of rule 173G, after proviso (iii), the following proviso shall be inserted, namely: —

"(iv) In respect of removal of any goods after 6 o'clock in the afternoon on the day preceding the date appointed for the presentation of the annual or any supplementary Budget of the Central Government to Parliament, the provisions of sub-rule (1) of rule 224 shall apply."
