NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 23rd February 1970

S.O. 827.—Whereas the Government of Jammu and Kashmir have intimated certain alterations in the names and boundaries of the territorial divisions com- prised within 6-Jammu parliamentary constituency-mentioned In Schedule VI to the Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies Order, 1986 and specified below;

And whereas the Election Commission considers it necessary to make amend- ments in the description of the said constituency so as to bring the Order up-to- date;

Now, therefore, In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (11 of section 9 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, the Election Com- mission hereby makes the amendments in the said order as follows: —

I In 6-Jammu, In the description of the extent of constituency, for the words "Jammu and Poonch districts", substitute the words "Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch districts."II In the note for the words and figures "1st day of December. 1966", substi- tute the words "1st day of August, 1969". section 3, sub-section (11), dated the 14th January, 1970.

At page 87 of the Gazette in item (S), under 229-Mulshl, In the third line

of sub-para (ill) for the figure "346" read the figure "246".
