New Delhi , the 5th March 1970

S.O. 935. Whereas a vacancy has been caused in the Council of States by the death of Shrimati Violet Alva , a member elected to the Council of States by the elected members of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Mysore , before the expiration of her term of office;

Now, therefore , in pursuance of the provisions of sub - section ( 1 ) of section 147 of the Representation of the People Act , 1951 , the Election Commission hereby calls upon the elected members of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Mysore to elect , in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the rules and orders made thereunder , a person to fill the vacancy so caused before the 28th March , 1970 .

का० श्रा० 935.--यतः मसूर विधान सर के निर्वाचित सदस्यों द्वारा राज्य सभा के लिए निर्वाचित सदस्या श्रीमती वायलेट अल्वा की पदावधि के अवसान से पूर्व मृत्यु हो जाने से राज्य सभा में एक स्थान रिक्त हो गया है ;

अतः , अब लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम , 1951 की धारा 147 की उपधारा ( 1 ) के उप- बन्धों के प्रनुमरग में निर्वाचन आयोग मैसूर राज्य की विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्यों में एतद्वारा अपेक्षा करता हैं कि वे ऐसे हुई रिक्ति को भरने के लिए 28 मार्च 1970 से पूर्व , उक्ात अधिनियम के और तद्वीन बनाए गए नियमों और श्रादेशों के अनुसार एक व्यक्ति निर्वाचित कर दें ।

In pursuance of the provisions of sub - section ( 1 ) of section 39 of the Representation of the People Act , 1951 , the Election Commission hereby appoints for the election to the Council of States to be held in pursuance of its notification No. 100 / CS - MY / 6 / 69 ( 1 ) , dated the 5th March , 1970.-

(a) the 12th March , 1970 ( Thursday ) , as the last date for making nominations ;

(b) the 13th March , 1970 ( Friday) , as the date for the scrutiny of nominations :

(d) the 25th March , 1970 ( Wednesday ) , as the date on which a poll shall , if necessary , be taken ; and

(e) the 28th March , 1970 ( Saturday ) , as the date before which the election shall be completed.

का० प्रा ० 936-लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम , 1951 की धारा 39 की उपधारा ( 1 ) के उपबन्धों के अनुसरण में निर्वाचन आयोग अपनी अधिसूचना स ० 100/रा ० म०- मैसूर/ 6/ 69 (1 ) , तारीख 5 मार्च , 1970 के अनुमरण में राजा सभा के लिए होने वाले निर्वाचन के बारे में-

--12 मार्च, 1970 ( गुरुवार) (क) नामनिर्देशने करने के लिए अन्तिम तारीख

(ख) नामनिर्देशन की मंवीक्षा की तारीख

13 मार्च , 1970 ( शुक्रवार )

--16 मार्च , 1970 ( सोमवार) (ग ) अभ्ययिता वाप नेने कोन्तिम तारीख

( घ ) वह तारीख जिसको यदि आवश्यक हो, तो मतदान होगा

--25 मार्च , 1970 ( बुधवार)

(ङ) वह तारीख जिसके पूर्व निर्वाचन समाप्त कर दिया जाएगा

- 28 मार्च, 1970 ( शनिवार)

In pursuance of section 56 of the Representation of the People Act . 1951 , the Election Commission hereby fixes the hours from 10.00 Α.Μ. to 1.00 P.M. as the hours during which a poll shall ,if necessary , be taken for the election to the Council of States to be held in pursuance of its notification No. 100 / CS - MY / 6 / 69 ( 1 ) , dated the 5th March , 1970 .

का० प्रा० 937: लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम , 1951 की धारा 56 के अनुसरण निर्वाचन आयोग अपनी अधिसूचना सं ० 100- रा ० स०-मैसूर 6/69 ( 1 ) , तारीख 5 मार्च 1970 के अनुसरण में राज्य सभा के लिए होने वाले निर्वाचन के लिए 10 बज पूर्वाह्न से 1 बजे अपराह्न तक का समय उस समय के रूप में एतद्वारा नियत करता है जिसके दौरान यदि श्रावश्यक हो तो, मतदान होगा ।

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 21 of the Representa- tion of the People Act , 1951 , the Election Commission , in consultation with the Government of Mysore , hereby designates Shri K. S. Thimmappa Gowda , Joint Secretary, Mysore Legislature , to be the Returning Officer for the election to the Council of States to be held in pursuance of its notification No. 100 / CS -MY / 6 / 69 ( 1 ) , dated the 5th March , 1970 .

फा ० प्रा ० 938.-लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम , 1951 की धारा 21 द्वारा प्रदत्त 'शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए निर्वाचन आयोग , मैसूर सरकार के परामर्श से , अपनी अधिसूचना सं ० 100 ' रा ० स०-मैसूर/ 6 / 69 ( 1 ) नारीख 5 मार्च , 1970 के अनुसरण में राज्य सभा के लिए होने वाले निदाचन के लिए श्री के ० एम ० थिम्मप्पा गाउण्डा , मंयुक्त सचिव , मैसूर विधान मण्डल को रिटनिंग श्राफिसर के स्थ्य म एतद्वारा पदामिहित करता है ।

Deshmukh , Deputy Secretary , Mysore Legislature , to assist the Returning Officer for the election to the Council of States to be held in pursuance of its notification No. 100 / CS - MY / 6 / 69 ( 1 ) , dated the 5th March . 1970 , in performance of his functions .
