New Delhi , the 7th May 1970
G.S.R. 775.- In exercise of the powers conferred by section 7 of the Indian Telegraph Act , 1885 ( 13 of 1885) , the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Indian Telegraph Rules , 1951 , namely :
1. ( 1) These rules may be called the Indian Telegraph ( Sixth Amendment ) Rules , 1970 .
(2) They shall come into force on the 15th May , 1970 .
2. In the Indian Telegraph Rules , 1951 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules) , in rule 62, for the words " twenty paise " , the words " forty paise " shall be substituted .

3. In rule 124 of the said rules , for the Table of charges , for Greetings telegrams , the following Table shall be substituted , namely :-

सा ० का ० ति० 775-भारतीय तार अधिनियम , 1885 ( 1885 का 13 ) की धारा 7 द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए केन्द्रीय सरकार भारतीय तार नियम 1951 में और आगे संशोधन करने के लिए एतद्वारा नियम बिनाती है , अर्थात् : ---
1. ( 1 ) ये नियम भारतीय तार ( छठी संशोधन ) नियम , 1970 कहे जा सकेंगे ।
(2) ये 15 मई 1970 को प्रवृत्त होंगे ।
2. भारतीय तार नियम , 1951 ( जिसे इसमें इसके पश्चात् , उक्त नियम कहा गया है ) में, नियम 62 में , " बीस पैसे " शब्दों के स्थान पर " चालीस पैसे " शब्द प्रतिस्थापित किए जाएंगे ।

3. उक्त नियमों के नियम 124 में बधाई तार के प्रभारों की सारणी के स्थान पर निम्नलिखित सारनी प्रतिस्थापित की जाएगी , अर्थात् :---
