New Delhi , the 18th May 1970
G.S.R. 831. In exercise of the powers conferred by clause ( 1 ) of sub - section ( 3 ) of section 9 of the Salaries and Allowances of Members of Parliament Act , 1954 ( 30 of 1954 ) , the Joint Committce constituted under sub - section ( 1 ) of that section after consultation with the Central Government , hereby makes the follow- ing rules further to amend the Housing and Te'ephone Facilities (Members of Parliament ) Rules , 1956 , the same having been approved and confirmed by the Chairman of the Council of States and the Speaker of the House of the People , as required by sub - section ( 4 ) of the said section , namely : -
1. ( 1 ) These rules may be called the Housing and Telephone Facilities ( Mem- bers of Parliament ) Amendment Rules , 1970 .
( 2) They shall be deemed to have cone into force on the 5th August , 1969 .
2. In sub - rule ( 3 ) of rule 4 of the Housing and Telephone Facilities ( Members of Parliament ) Rules , 1956-
(a) in clause ( i ) , after the words " which he represents , " the words " or within the State in which he resides " shall be inserted;
(b ) in clause ( ii ) , for the words " his constituency , " the words "the State in which his constituency is or within the State in which he resides" shall be substituted ,
