NOTIFICATIONS
New Delhi, the 10th September 1970
SO 3001—In exercise of the powers conferred by article 324 of the Consti- tution lead with rule 5 and rule 10 of the Conduct of Election Rules, 1961, and all other powers enabling it in this behalf, the Election Commission of India, hereby makes the following amendment in its, The Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 19G8, dated the 31st August, 1908, published as SO 2959, 111 the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3 Sub-section (ii) dated the 31st August, 1968, namely —
In item (1), in sub-para (1) of para 2 for the existing entry the entry ' 'State' includes the autonomous State of Meghalaya and a Union Territory," shall be substituted

1464 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART 11—SEC. 3(iij'S.O. 3002, In pursuance ot paragraph 17 of the Election Symbols (Reserva- tion and Allotment) Order, 1D68, the Election Commission hereby makes the following amendments in its notification No. 56/69-11 (S.O. 89), dated the 4th January, 1969, namely: —
(i,i In Table 2, below the entry "Tripura Trjpura Congress Plough", the entry "Meghalaya. • .^All Party Hill Leaders Conference..., Flower" shall be added; and
(ii) In Table 3, below the entry "27. Laccadivo, Mimeoy and Amindivi Islands.... (1) Bicycle, (2) Boat, (3) Scales and (4) Two Leaves", the entry "28. Meghalaya (1) Bicycle, (2) Boat, (3) Lion, (4) Scales, (5) Spade and (6) Tw0 Leaves" shall be added.
