NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 15th September 1970

S.O. 3115.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 109 of the Gold (Control) Act, 1968 (45 of 1968), the Central Government, being of opinion that it Is necessary in the public Interest so to do, hereby directs that every licensed dealer, refiner or other person who makes a consolidated quarterly declaration under section 16 of the said Act, read with the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue and Insurance, No. S.O. 377, dated 24th January, 1969, shall be exempted from the provisions of sub- section (10) of section 16 of the said Act, if—

(i) he endorses, on the copy of the consolidated quarterly declaration retain- ed by him, the date on which the further consolidated declaration for the quarter immediately following was made by him and the number under which that declaration was recorded in the office of the Gold Control Officer; and(ii) such endorsement is made within fifteen days from the date on which the ropy of the said further quarterly declaration as recorded by the Gold Control Officer is received back by such licensed dealer, refiner or other person.
