New Delhi, the 22nd September 1970
G.S.R. 1718.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 1 of Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969 (18 of 1969), the Central Gov- ernment hereby appoints the first day of October, 1970, as the date on which the said Act shall come into force in the following areas of Jammu and Kashmir State:
1. The area comprised within the jurisdiction of the police station of Ram- nagar in Udhampur district.
2. The area comprised within the jurisdiction of the police station of Kupwara in Baramulla district.
