S.O. 3125.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-clause (ix) of clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 2 of the Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1968 (59 of 1968), the Central Government, being of opinion that strikes in any service connected with the supply of electrical energy by the Damodar Valley Corporation established under the Damodar Valley Corporation Act, 1948, or with the genera- tion, storage or transmission of electrical energy for the purpose of such supply would result in the infliction of grave hardship on the community, hereby declares every such service to be an essential service for the purposes of the first-mentioned Act.

8.0- 3126.—Whereas the Central Government is satisfied that In the public Interest it is necessary to make the following order:
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of sectior 3 of the Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1968 (59 of 1968), the Central Govern- ment hereby prohibits strikes In any service connected with the supply of electrlca. energy by the Damodar Valley Corporation established under the Damodar Valle Corporation Act, 1948, or with the generation, storage or transmission of electrical energy for the purpose of such supply, which has been declared by the notiflcattor of the Government of India in the Ministry of Irrigation and Power, No S.O- dated the 1970, to be an essential service for the pur poses of the first-mentioned act.
