S.O. 3549. In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 4 of the Coir Industry Act , 1953 ( 45 of 1953 ) read with sub - rule ( 1 ) of Rule 5 of the Coir Industry Rules , 1954 as amended by the Coir Industry ( Amendment ) Rules , 1963 , the Central Government hereby notifies that Dr. K. Mathew Kurian , Member , Rajya Sabha has been duly elected by the Rajya Sabha on May 13 , 1970 to be a member of the Coir Board vice Shri Sherkhan who ceased to be a member of the Rajya Sabha from April 2 , 1970.
