SUBJECT.—Issue of Ipnport Licences for Steel to Actual Users.

No. 184-ITC(PN)/70.—Attention is invited to Ministry of Foreign Trade Public Notice No. 140-ITC(PN)/70, dated September 11, 1970 as amended vide Public Notice No, 161-ITC(PN)/70 dated 3rd November, 1970. It is clarified that a unit can submit an application under the said Public Notice either under paragraph 2 or under paragraph 5 thereof, but not under both. In other words, exporting units can apply for import of 50 per cent of their actual consumption of steel Items during 1969-70 (in terms of para 2 of the Public Notice) or for the full quantum of steel required for export production against firm export commitments. 2. Those who have already submitted applications under both paragraphs will be allowed import facilities against the provisions made under either of para- graph (2) or paragraph (5) of the above said Public Notice at their choice-
