NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 28th December 1970
S.O. 4102.—Whereas the Election Commission by its Notification No. 1001/AS- HP/1/70(1), dated the 22nd December, ]970, had called upon 9-Tezpur Parlia- mentary constituency in the State of Assam to elect before the 5th February, 1971 a person to fill the vacancy in the House of the People caused by the resignation of Shri B. Bhagwati elected to the House from that constituency;
And whereas the President of India has dissolved the House of the People by Notification No. 37/2/70/T, dated the 27th December, 1970;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 30, 56 and sub- section 1 of section 149 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 and all other powers enabling it in this behalf, read with section 21 of the General Clauses Act 1897, the Election Commission hereby cancels its Notifications No. 100/AS/ HP/l/70(l), dated the 22nd December, 1970, No. 100/AS-HP/1/70(3), dated the 22nd December, 1970 and No. 100/AS-HP/1/70O), dated the 22nd December, 1970 and all proceedings taken in pursuance of these Notifications.
