NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 23rd February 1971
G.S.R. 297.—In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 24 of the Pass- ports Act, 1967 (15 of 1967), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Passports Rules, 1967, namely:—
1. (1) These rules may be called the Passports (Amendment) Rules, 1971. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Passports Rules, 1967,—
(i) in the Schedule III, in Form EA(P)5, for the entry against serial number 3 under the heading 'Personal Particulars' the following entry shall be substituted, namely:— "Place of Origin";
(ii) in Schedule VI, under the heading "FORM OF CERTIFICATE OF IDENTITY" in page 1 of Certificate of Identity —
(a) for the words "Nationality of Origin" the words "Place of Origin" shall be substituted;
(b) after the words "Place of Origin", as so substituted", the words, "Pre- sent National Status" shall be inserted.
