CUSTOMS

New Delhi, the 1st January, 1972

G.S.R. 7.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts the goods specified in the Table annexed hereto, when imported into India in a commercially pure form from—

(a) so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the First Schedule to the Indian Tariff Act, 1934 (32 of 1934), as is in excess of 10 per cent ad valorem, whore the standard rate of duty is leviable ; and

(b) the whole of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the aforesaid First Schedule, where the preferential rate of duty is leviable:

Provided that nothing contained in this notification shall apply to any patent or proprietary preparation containing any of the goods specified in the said Table as in ingredient thereof-
