NOTIFICATIONS
New Delhi, the 1 st February, 1972
S.O. 83(E).—Whereas an election is required to be held by sub-section (3) of section 16 of the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Act, 1971 (81 of 1971), to elect a represen- tative from the 3-Dinhu (ST) parliamentary constituency comprising the Autonomous Dis- tricts of the North Cachar Hills and the Mikir Hills in the State of Assam, as if the scat of the member elected to the House of the People from that constituency has become vacant;
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of section 149 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Commission hereby calls upon the said constituency to elect before the 17th March, 1972, in accordance with the provisions at the said Act and of the rules and orders made thereunder, a person who is a member of any ml the Scheduled Tribes in those Autonomous Districts and is an elector of the said 3- Diphu (ST) parliamentary constituency to fill the said seat.

(") the 8th February, 1972 (Tuesday) as the last date for making nominatioM;
