IMPORT TRADE CONTROL

SUBJECT.—Import of goods as Personal Baggage under the Beggage Rules.

No. 20-ITC(PN)/'J2.—Attention is invited to Public Notice No. 13-ITC(PN)/ 71, dated 1st February, 1971, as amended, on the above subject.

2. In view of the representations received from the manufacturers of T. V. Seta to curtail the import of T. V. Sets and the good duality of T. V. Seta made in India, it has been decided that the present provision of allowing a T, V. Set to passengers returning from abroad after a stay upto three months be with- drawn, Consequently, item No. 1 i.e. "a T. V. Set" in para 2 (a) of the amoresaid Public Notice may be deemed to have been deleted, and the remaining items re-numbered accordingly. Reference to the bringing of T. V. Sets under para 2(a) of the Public Notice mentioned elsewhere in the Public Notice should also be deemed to have been deleted.

3. It has also been decided that the provision of allowing articles listed In para 2(b) of the aforesaid Public Notice will be applicable to such passengers only who are returning to India after having lived abroad in one country for morethanan three months. Para 2(b) of the Public Notice should, therefore, be deemed to be amended accordingly.

Sets under para 2(b) of the said Public Notice, as amended, will be extended to passenger normally resident In Bombay/ Poona and Srlnagar and also such nearby places which fail within the rangaa of the proposed T. V. Stations at these places. Accordingly the following will be added in sub-para (I) under para 3 after, the worda "A.I.Jl."; "including Stations being set up at Bombay/Poona and Srlnagar".
