THE PUBLIC WAKFS (EXTENSION OF LIMITATION)
(DELHI AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE, 1972
No. 3 OF 1972
Promulgated by the President in the Twenty-third Year of the Republic of India.
An Ordinance further to amend the Public Wakfs (Extension of
Limitation) Act, 1959.
WHEREAS Parliament is not in session and the President is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary for him to take immediate action;
Now, THEREFORE , IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by clause (1) of article 123 of the Constitution, the President is pleased to promulgate the following Ordinance: —
!^ THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PAST II—SKC. 1](3) It shall be deemed to have effect from the 1st day of January, 1971.
Z. During the period of operation of this Ordinance, section 3 of the Public Wakfs (Extension of Limitation) Act, 1959, as in force in the Union territory o.f Delhi, shall have effect subject to the modification that for the words, figures and letters "the 31st day of December, 1970" occurring therein, the words, figures and letters "the 31st day of December, 1972 shall be substituted.
Act 20 of 1959 as in force in Delhi, to be tempo- rarily amended.
