MINISTRY OF FINANCE (Department of Revenue & Insurance) NOTIFICATION FOREIGN TRAVEL TAX
New Delhi, the 24th March 1972
G.S.R. 208(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of section 46 of the Finance (No. 2) Act, 1971 (32 of 1971), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts the following classes of persons from the whole of the foreign travel tax leviable under sub-sec- tion (1) of section 45 of the said Act in respect of every international journey, undertaken in the official capacity, by any person of such class, namely: —
(i) the President of India;
(ii) the Vice-President of India;
(ill) the Prime Minister of India;
(iv) a Minister as defined in section 2 of the Salaries and Allowances of Ministers Act, 1952 (58 of 1952);
(v) a person accompanying, in such International journey, the President of India, the Vice-President of India, the Prime Minister of India or a Minister
