SUBJECT,—Special facilities for Indians returning from/residing abroad.
No. 96-ITC(PN):/72.—Attention is invited to para 123(3) (ii) of Section I of the Import Trade Control Policy (Red Book, Vol. I) for April 1972—March 1973 in terms of which applications in the prescribed form are to be made to the Reserve Bank of India for permission to retain foreign currency balances,
2. It has been decided that applications for permission to retain foreign cur- rency balances abroad by the Indian nationals returning from abroad should be made to the Reserve Bank of India in the form prescribed in the Appendix to this Public Notice. In the case of persons of Indian origin residing abroad, only a declaration regarding foreign currency balances should be made and the Reserve Bank of India will acknowledge the receipt of such a declaration. The prescribed form in which such a declaration is to be made by the persons residing abroad will be notified separately.

Application for permission to retain\ foreign currency balance
(1) Full name and address in India/abroacJ.

(5) Countries in which you were residing ior more than three months before returning to India with period of residence a|nd nature of your employment in each country.
(6) Purpose of your stay in each of the countries named above.
(7) Date on which you arrived in India/pr|opose to arrive In India.
(8) Details of accounts maintained abroad:

(11) Do you own any foreign currency securities? If so, have you made a separate application to the Reserve Bank for obtaining a holding licence in respect thereof?
I hereby confirm that the foreign currency account(s) listed above constitute a complete statement of my foreign currency holdings abroad and I certify that all the particulars given above are true to the best of my knowledge and belief.
