SUBJECT—Import of raw materials, components and spares by actual users engaged

in industries other than priority industries for the licensing period April

1972—March 1973.

No. 102-ITC(PN)/72,—Attention is invited to paragraph 36 of Section I of the Import Trade Control Policy Red Book (Vol I) for April 1972— March 1973 and Ministry of Foreign Trade' Public Notice No. 71-ITC(PN)/72, dated 18th May, 1972 according to which actual users both in the large and small scale sectors engaged in industries other than priority industries requiring raw materials. components and spares for a value in excess of Rs. one lakh are required to furnish with their import applications a statement of consumption of imported raw materials etc. certified by a Chartered Accountant (or Cost Accountant in practice) Or certified by the sponsoring authority in the case of small scale units. 2. It Is clarified that actual users who have to apply for a licence for import ol only spare parts are not required to furnish the statement of consumption etc. referred to above. The statement In question should be produced by actual users applying lor r,aw materials/components or by those making consolidated applica- tions for import of raw materials, components and spares.
