ORDER

New Delhi, the 22nd August 1972

G.S.R. 381(E)/Ess.Com/Sugar.—In exercise of powers conferred by (section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1935 (10 of 1953), the Central Government hereby makes the following Order further to amend the Sugar (Control) Order, 1966, namely:—

1. (1) This Order may be called the Sugar (Control) Amendment Order, 1972.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

2. In clause 2 of the Sugar (Control) Order, 1966 (hereinafter referred to as the said Order), sub-clause (a) shall be relettered as (aa), and before it is so re-lettered, the following sub-clause shall be inserted, namely:—

"(a) "Bulk consumer" means a halwai, sweetmeat seller or a confectioner."3. In clause 7 of the said Order, in sub-clause (b) after the words "one or more of the Indian Sugar Standard Grades of Sugar", the words "or to sell it only to bulk consumers for use in the manufacture of their products" shall be added.
