NOTIFICATION
New Delhi , the 13th October 1972
S.O. 656 ( E ) . Whereas the President has by notification published in the Gazette of India , on the 13th October , 1972 , called upon the elected members of the Legis- lative Assembly of Jammu & Kashmir State to elect a member to the Council of States;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section ( 1 ) of section 39 of the Representation of the People Act , 1951 the Election Commission hereby appoints with respect to the said election ,-
(a) the 20th October , 1972 , ( Friday ) , as the last date for making nomina- tions;
(b) the 21st October , 1972 , ( Saturday) , as the date for the scrutiny of nominations ;
(c) the 23rd October , 1972 , ( Monday ) , as the last date for the withdrawal of candidatures ;
(d) the 30th October , 1972 , ( Monday ) , as the date on which a poll shall , if necessary , be taken; and
( e) the 3rd November , 1972 , ( Friday ) , as the date before which the elec- tion shall be completed.

एस ० श्री० 656 ( प्र) यतः , भारत के राजपत्त्र में तारीख 13 अक्तूबर , 1972 को प्रकाशित अधिसूचना द्वारा राष्ट्रपति ने जम्मू-कश्मीर राज्य की विधान सभा के निर्वाचित सदस्यों से राज्य सभा के लिए एक सदस्य निर्वाचित करने की अपेक्षा की है ;
अतः , अब , लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम , 1951 की धारा 39 की उपधारा ( 1 ) द्वारा प्रदत शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए , निर्वाचन आयोग उक्त निर्वाचन के बारे में: -
( क ) नामनिर्देशन करने के लिए अन्तिम तारीख 20 अक्तूबर , 1972 ( शुक्रवार) ;
21 अक्तूबर , 1972 ( शनिवार ) ;
(ख ) नामनिर्देशनों की संवीक्षा की तारीख
( ग ) श्रभ्यर्थिताएं वापस लेने की अन्तिम तारीख
23 अक्तूबर, 1972 ( सोमवार) ;
30 अक्तूबर, 1972 ( सोमवार ) ; तथा
( घ) वह तारीख जिसको यदि आवश्यक हो तो मतदान होगा
3 नवम्बर , 1972 (शुक्रवार ) ;
(ङ) वह तारीख जिसके पूर्व निश्वन समाप्त कर दिया जाएगा
एतद्वारा नियत करता है ।

S.O. 657 ( E ) .-In exercise of the powers conferred by section 56 of the Represen- tation of the People Act , 1951 , the Election Commission hereby fixes the hours from 10.00 A.M. to 4.00 P.M. as the hours during which a poll shall , if necessary , be taken for the biennial election to the Council of States to be held in pursu- ance of the President's notification published in the Gazette of India on the 13th October , 1972 .

एस ० ओ ० 657 ( श्र) लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम, 1951 की धारा 56 द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए , निर्वाचन आयोग , भारत के राज्जपन्न में तारीख 13 अक्तूबर , 1972 को प्रकाशित राष्ट्रपति की अधिसूचना के अनुसरण में , राज्य सभा के लिए होने वाले द्विवार्षिक निर्वाचन के लिए 10 बजे पूर्वालन से 4 बजे अपराह्णन तक का समय उस समय के रुप में एतद्वारा नियत करता है , जिसके दौरान यदि आवश्यक हो , तो मतदान होगा ।

S.O. 658 ( E ) . In pursuance of the provisions of section 21 of the Representation of the People Act , 1951 , the Election Commission , in consultation with the Gov- ernment of Jammu & Kashmir State , hereby designates the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, as the Returning Officer for the biennial election to the Council of States to be held in pursuance of the President's notification published in the Gazette of India on the 13th October . 1972 .

एस ० ओ ० 658 ( अ ) लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम, 1951 की धारा 21 के उप- बन्धों के अनुसरण में, निर्वाचन आयोग जम्मू- कश्मीर राज्य सरकार के परामर्श से , भारत के राजपत्र में तारीख 13 अक्तूबर , 1972 को प्रकाशित राष्ट्रपति की अधिसूचना के अनुसरण में, राज्य सभा के लिए होने वाले द्विवार्षिक निर्वाचन के लिए उपायुक्त, श्रीनगर को रिनिंग आफिसर के रुप में एतद्वारा पदाभिहित करता है ।

S.O. 659 ( E ) .-In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section ( 1 ) of section 22 of the Representation of the People Act , 1951 , the Election Commission hereby appoints the Deputy Secretary , Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly , Srinagar to assist the Returning Officer for the biennial election to the Council of States to be held in pursuance of the President's notification published in the Gazette of India on the 13th October , 1972 .
