IMPORT TRADE CONTROL

SUBJECT.—Import Policy for Registered Exporters for the year 1972-73 (Amend- ment No. 301.

No. IGS-ITC(PN)/72—Attention is invited to the Import Policy for Registered Exporters contained in the Import Trade Control Policy Book (Vol. II) for the period April, 1972—March, 1973 issued under the Ministry of Foreign Trade Public Notice No. 47-ITC(PN)/72 dated 3rd April, 1972.

2. According to the current Import Policy for Registered Exporters there is no provision for the grant of licences to Design Engineering firms. As these Design Engineering firms can contribute significant'y to the export trade of the country, it has been decided that against foreign exchange earned by such firms for the Projects undertaken by thorn abroad, replenishment licences may be issued to them, on merits, for import of raw materials components and accessories etc. not available indigenously required for the export product, provided such firms are Registered Exporters. The value of such licences will be as per the replenish- ment admissible against the export products as per the Import Trade Control Policy Vol II M. M. SEN. Chief Controller of Imports & Exports.
