SUBJECT.—Import of Asafoetida (Hing), S. No. 31(b)/V,ITC from Afghanistan and counter-export of goods from India, under Indo-Afghan Trade Arrange- ment, 1972-73 (1st March, 1972 to 28th February, 1973)—Introduction of Banking system.
No. 164-ITC(PN)/72.—Attention is invited to sub-paragraph 10(a)(iii) and para 27 of the Ministry of Foreign Trade Public Notice No. 93-ITC(PN)/72 dated 30th June, 1972, regarding the import of Asafoetida from Afghanistan through banking channels. The details of policy and procedure for import of Asafoetida have since been decided and incorporated in this Public Notice. No imports of Asafoetida will be allowed from Afghanistan except under and in accordance with the provisions of this Public Notice.
Basis of Licensing
2. C C.Ps for import of Astifoetida from Afghanistan will be granted only under the "Import First" Scheme to "Approved Importers" and "Others" as defined in paragraphs 3 and 4 respectively of the aforesaid Public Notice dated 30th June, 1972.
