New Delhi , the 12th February 1973
S.O. 86 ( E ) . Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the Council of States due to the death of Shri Shamprasad Rupshanker Vasavada , a member elected to the Council of States from Gujarat , before the expiration of his term of office .
Now, therefore , in pursuance of the provisions of sub - section ( 1 ) of Section 147 of the Representation of the People Act , 1951 , the Election Commission hereby calls upon the elected members of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Gujarat to elect , in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the rules and orders made thereunder , a person to fill the vacancy so caused before the 9th March , 1973 (Friday).

अतः, अब , लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम , 1951 की धारा 147 की उपधारा ( 1) के उपबन्धों के अनुसरण में निर्वाचन आयोग गुजरात राज्य की विधान सभा के मिर्वाचित सदस्यों से एतद्वारा अपेक्षा करता है कि थे ऐसे हुई रिक्ति को भरने के लिए 9 मार्च, 1973 ( शुत्र- बार ) से पूर्व , उक्त अधिनियम के और तद्दीन बनाए गए नियमों और भावेशों के उपबन्धों के अनुसार एक व्यक्ति निर्वाचित कर द ।

S.O. 87 ( E ) . In pursuance of the provisions of sub - section ( 1 ) of section 39 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 , the Election Commission hereby appoints for the election to the Council of States to be heldheld in pursuance of its Notification No. 100 /CS - GJ/ 10 /72 ( 1 ) , dated the 12th February , 1973 :-
( a) the 19th February , 1973 ( Monday ) , as the last date for making nomina- tions;
(b ) the 20th February , 1973 (Tuseday ) , as the date for the scrutiny of nomina- tions;
(c ) the 22nd February , 1973 ( Thursday ) , as the last date for the withdrawal of candidatures;
(d ) the 2nd March , 1973 ( Friday ) , as the date on which a poll shall , if necessary , be taken; and
( e ) the 9th March , 1973 ( Friday ) , as the date before which the election shall be completed .

एम ० ओ० 87 ( प्र) मोरु प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम , 1951 की धारा 39 की उअधारा ( 1 ) के उपबन्धों के अनुसरण में निर्वावन द्यायोग अपनी अधिसूचना सं ० 100 / रा ० स ० --पुत्र/ 10 / 72 ( 1 ) , नारोब 12 फरवरी , 1973 के अनुसरण में राज्य सभा के लिए होने वाले निर्वाचन के बारे में
(क) नाम निदेशत करने के लिए अन्तिम तारीख - 19 फरवरी , 1973 ( सोमवार) ;
(ख) नामनिदगनों की संवीक्षा की तारीख --20 फरवरी , 1973 ( मंगलवार) ;
( ग) प्रथिना वापस लेने की अन्तिम तारीख - 22 फरवरी , 1973 ( बृहस्प। तवार ) ;
2 मार्च , 1973 ( शुक्रवार ) तथा ( घ) वह तारीख जनाको यदि आवश्यक हो तो मतदान होगा ।
( ङ) वह तारीख जिसके पूर्व निर्वाचन समाप्त - 9 मार्च, 1973 ( शुक्रवार ) कर दिया जाएगा
एतद्वारा नियत करता है ।

S.O. 89 ( E ) .-' n pursuance of section 56 of the Representation of the People Art, 1951 , the Election Commission hereby fixes the hours from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m as the haus during which a toll shall , if necessary , be taken for the election to the Council of States to be held in pursuance of its Notification No 100 / LS - GJ / 10/72 ( 1 ) caled the 12th February , 1973 .

एस० श्रो० 88 ( भ) .-लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनयम , 1951 की धारा 56 के अनुसरण में निर्वाचन आयोग अपनी अधिसूचना सं ० 100 / धा ० स ० गुज ०/ 10/ 72 ( 1 ) , तारीख 12 फरवरी , 1973 के भनुसरण में राज्य सभा के लिए होने वाले निर्वाचन के लिए 9 बजे पूर्वाह्न से 12 बजे अपराह्न तक का समय उस समय के रूप में एतद्वारा नियत करता है जिसके दौरान यदि आवश्यक हो तो , मतदान होगा ।

एस ० ओ० 89 (अ) लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम, 1951 की धारा 21 के उपबन्धों के अनुसरण में निर्वाचन अयोग , गुजरात सरकार के परामर्श से अपनी अधि- सूचना सं ० 100 / रा ० स०- गुज ० / 10 / 72 ( 1 ) , तारीख 12 फरवरी , 1973 के अनुसरण में राज्य सभा के लिए होने वाले निर्वाचन के लिए गुजरात विधान मंडल सचिवालय के सचिव को रिटर्निंग आफिसर के रूप में एतद्धारा पदामिहित करता है ।

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section ( 1 ) of section 22 of the Representation of the People Act 1951 , the Election Commission hereby appoints the Under Secretary of the Gujarat Legislature Secretariat to assist the Returning Officer for the election to the Council of States to be held in pursuance of its Notification No. 100 / CS- GJ/ 10 / 72 ( 1 ) , dated the 12th February , 1973. in the performance of his functions .
