New Delhi, the list March, 1973
S.O. 189(E)—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause(3) of article 77 of the Constitution he President hereby makes the following rales lurther to amend the Government of India (Allo- cation of Business) Rules, 1961, namely—
I. (1) These rules may be called the Government of India (Allocation of Business) (Ninety- eighth Amendment) Rules 1973.
(2) They shall come into force at once.
2. In the Second Schedule to the Government of India (Allocation of Business Rules, 1961—
(A) under the heading "MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE
(KRISHI MANTRALAYA)",
(0 under sub-heading "C. DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (SAMUDAYIK VIKAS V1BIIAG/', (a) for entry 1, the following entry shall be substituted, namely:—
" 1. Rural Community Development Programme including programmes of Rura Works and Local Development Works construction of wells for Rural drinking water, other than piped water supply.";

'E) under the heading "MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND FAMILY PLANNING (SWAS- ' THYA AUR PARIVAR NIYOJAN MANTRALAYA)", under sub-heading " B. DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY PLANNING (PARIVAR NIYOJAN VIBHAG)", (j) for entry 3, the following entry shall be substituted, namely—
"3. Organisation direction and oF education, training and research in ali aspects of family planning, including higher training abroad. ';
(if) for entry 7, the following entry shall be substituted, namely:—

10. Other Public Sector Enterprises or undertakings falling under the subjects included in this list except such as are specifically allotted to any other Department. 11. All Attached or Subordinate Offices or other organisations concerned with any of the subjects specified in this list.";
(") under sub-heading "B. DEPARTMENT OF MINES (KHAN VIBHAG)", for the existing entries, the following entries shall be substituted, namely :—
" 1. Production, Supply, distribution and prices of coal other than coking coal.
2. Exploration and development of lignite deposits in India.
3. Setting up of synthetic oil plant based on coal and low temperature carbonization plants for the production of smokeless domestic coal.
4. Administration of the Coal Mines (Conservation and Safety) Act, 1952. 5. Development and operation of coal washerica other than Lhosc for which the Depart- ment oi Steel (Ispat Vibhag) is responsible.

8. All other metals and minerals not specif •cully allotted to any other Department, such as aluminium, zinc, copper, gold, diamonds, lead and nickel.
9. Planning, development and control of, and assistance to, all industries dealt with by the Department.
10. Geological Survey of India. 11. Indian Bureau of Mines. 12. All other attached or subordinate offices or other organisations concerned with any of the subjects specified in this list.
13. Mailers relating to the following undertakings—
