ORDER
New Delhi, the 21st June 1973
S.O. 347(E).—Whereas in the opinion of the Central Government it is. necessary and expedient so to do tor maintaining supplies and services essential to the life of the community;
And whereas any strike in any service in the State of Tamil Nadu connected with the supply of electrical energy to the public or with the generation, storage or transmission of electrical energy for the purpose of such supply would pre- judicially affect the maintenance of supplies and services essential to the life of the community, it is necessary and expedient to prevent strikes in the said services;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Rule 118 of the Defence of India Rules. 1971, the Central Government hereby prohibits, with immediate elect strike, in connection with any industrial dispute, in the said service for a period of six months.
