CENTRAL EXCISES
New Delhi, the 23rd June 1973
G.S.R. 322(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India In the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 28/62-Central Excises, dated the 24th April, 1962, namely:—
In the said notification, the following paragraph shall be inserted at the end, namely—
"2. Nothing contained in this notification shall apply to—
(a) Spindle HVI oils; (b) Spindle LVI oils; (c) BOC lub 50; (d) Transformer oil base stock, or Transformer oil feed stock used for purposes other than the manufacture of transformer oil".

962 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PABT II—G.S.R. 323(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (i) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules 1944, the Central Government hereby exempts trie mineral oils specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed and falling under item No. 8 of the First Schedule to the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), from so much of the duty of excise levi- able thereon as is in excess of the duty specified In the corresponding entry in column (3) of the Table.

M4(E).—In exercise of the poweri conferred by sub-section (1) ot section 3 of the Mineral Products (Additional Duties of Excise and Customs^ Act, 1958 (27 of 1958), the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue nnd Insurance) No. No. 199/66-Central Excises, dated the Kith December, 1966, namely :—

(ii) In item fhO, for the words "and Bauxite Solvent Oil", the wordi". Bauxite Solcvent Oil, Spindle HVT Oils and Spindle LVI Oils" shall be substituted.

In the Ministry of Finance (Department of Hevenue and Insurance) Notifi- cation No. 97/73 dated the 18th March, 1973 published in the gazette of India Extraordinary Part II—Section 3—Sub-section (i) under Issue No 63 dated the 16th March, 1973 as G.S.R. 172(E), the following corrections are to be made:— (1) In the first line of item (i) for the word "proposed" read the word "processed".
(2) After clause (d) read " ( e )" for "(c)".
