NOTIFICATION
New Delhi , the 30th June 1973
No. UI / 222 ( 66) /71.-In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the United Nations ( Privileges and Immunities ) Act , 1947 ( 46 of 1947 ) , the Central Government hereby makes the following modification to the Gazette of India Notification No. UI/ 222 ( 66 ) / 71 , dated the 28th October , 1972 :
The words " except that the exemptions under Sections 18 and 19 shall apply only to the non - Indian officials of the said Institute " shall be substituted by the following:-
" except that ( i ) the exemptions under sections 18 ( b ) , ( d) , ( e) and ( g ) and 19 shall apply only to the non - Indian officials of the said Institute and (ii ) exemption under section 18( b ) shall be applicable to the Indian officials of the Institute recruited on an international basis to the extent that they shall be liable to pay income tax only on their pay and allowances , and not on perquisites represented by rent- free quarters and other amenitjes , provided to them by the Institute ."
