IMPORT TRADE CONTROL
New Delhi, the 8th August 1973 SUBJECT.—Supply of imported steel for export production.
No. 130-ITC(PN)/73.—Attention is invited to the Ministry of Commerce, Public Notices No. 86-lTC(PN)/73, dated the 5th June, 1973 and No. 105-ITC (PN)/73, dated the 23rd June, 1973 in terms of which supply of imported steel for export production as envisaged under Public Notices No 56-ITC(PN)/72, dated 18-4- 1972 and No. ITC(PN)/72, dated 8 6-1972, win be made only in respect of export contracts where the f.o.b. value of exports la atleast 25 per cent, higher than the total c.i.f. value of all the raw materials, including steel required for the fabrication of the export product. It was also provided that supply of steel would be made against export contracts in respect of which firm letters of credit had been opened prior to the 5th June, 1973,

The matter has been considered further and it has been decided that the provisions of Public Notices No. 86-ITC(PN)/73, dated the 5th June, 1973 and No. 105-ITC(PN)/73, dated the 23rd June, 1973 will not be applicable in case of supply of imported steel under Public Notice No. 192-ITC(PN)/72, dated the 23rd December, 1972 for the execution of orders received from projects including State Electricity Boards and financed under the I.D.A. Crediet.
