NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 24th August 1973

S.O. 461 (E).—In pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 10 of the Delimitation Act, 1972 (76 of 10,72), an Order made by the Delimitation Commission under section 8 of the said Act in respect of the State of Uttar Pradesh is hereby published: —

ORDER NO. 5

In pursuance of section 8 of the Delimitation Act, 1972 (76 of 1972), we hereby determine, on the basis of the latest census figures, having regard to the provisions of articles 81, 170, 330 and 332 of the Constitution, but subject to ratification under proviso to Article 368 of the Constitution of the Constitution (Thirty-first) Amend- ment Bill, 1973, as passed by the two Houses of Parliament, the number of seats in the House of the People to be allocated to the State of Uttar Pradesh as eighty-five (85) of which T8 seats shall (1615) 1616 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY ffARfc. be reserved for the Schedule stes and the total number of seats to be assigned to the Leeis e Assembly of the State as four- hundred and twenty-five (42 which 80, shall be reserved for the
