MINISTRY OF STEEL AND MINES (Department of Steel) NOTIFICATIONS New Delhi, the 19th September 1973
G.S.R. 446(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of sec- tion 8 of the Indian Iron and Steel Company (Taking over of Management) Act, 1972 (50 of 1972), the Central Government hereby specifies the following excep- tions, restrictions and limitations, subject to which the Companies Act, 1956 (1 of 1956) shall apply to the Indian Iron and Steel Company Limited. Calcutta, namely: —
1. Section 81 shall not apply.
2. Section 298 shall apply subject to the modification that in relation to the matters specified in clause (a) of sub-section (1). the company shall not exercise its powers except with the consent of the Central Government and accordingly, for this limited purpose, the opening words of sub-section (I) shall be amended as follows: —
for the words "such public company or subsidiary in general meeting", the words "the Central Government" shall be substituted.
