NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 20th September 1973

No. F. 3(4) -NS/73.—The President hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Post Office Savings Bank (Cumulative Time Deposits) Rules, 1959:—

1. (1) These rules may be called the Post Office Saving Bank (Cumulative Time Deposits) Third Amendment Rules, 1973.

(2) They shall come into force on the 1st November, 1973.

2. In the Post Office Savings Bank (Cumulative Time Deposits) Rules, 1959, after rule 12, the following rule shall be inserted, namely:—-

"13, Discontinuance of 5-Year account and 15-Year account.—(1) On and from the 1st November, 1973, the date of commencement of the Post Office Savings Bank (Cumulative Time Deposits) Third Amendment Rules, 1973, a 5-year account and a 15-year account operated through the Post Office Savings Bank under these rules shall be discontinued and no person shall open any such account.

(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-rule (1), the provisions of the foregoing rules shall apply to any 5-year account or 15-year account opened before such commencement." B. MAITHREYAN, Jt.
