NOTIFICATION
CENTRAL EXCISES
New Delhi, the 1st October 1973
S.R. 461(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of sec- tion 3 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) and in supersession the notification' of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (De- partment of Revenue and Insurance) No. 144/73-Central Excises, dated the 1st July, 1973, the Central Government hereby fixes a tariff value of two hundred and sixty five rupees per quintal for sugar falling under sub-item (1) of Item No 1 if the First Schedule to the said Act and chargeable with duty ad valorem.
Provided that nothing contained in this notification shall apply to sugar re- quired by the Central Government to be sold under clause (f) of sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955).
