SUBJECT.—Import policy for iron and steel items for actual users for the period April, 1973—March, 1974.
No. 163-ITC(PN)/73.—Attention is invited to the import policy for iron and steel items as contained in Appendix 41 of the Import Trade Control Policy (Red added as sub-para in Para 4 of Appendix 41 of the (Red Book—Volume I) for 1973-74:-
2. On a review of position, it has been decided that the following should be added as sub-para in para 4 of Appendix 41 of the Red Book (Volume I) for 1973-74: —
"However, as allotment of steel items within the purview of Joint Plant Committee from domestic producers for small scale units in the country is now canalised through the State Small Industries Corpora- tions, the small scale industrial units may for such items furnish certificate from the concerned State Small Industries Corporation specifying the quantity for which firm orders have been placed by State Small Industries Corporation on domestic producers to meet the applicant's requirement in terms of the policy."
3. Import policy for iron and steel for actual users as contained in Appendix 41 of the Import Trade Control Policy (Red Book—Volume I) for the period April, 1973— March, 1974 may be deemed to have been amended accordingly.
