S.O. 553 (E).—In pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 10 of the Delimitation Act, 1972 (76 of 1972), an Order made by the Delimitation Commission under section 8 of the said Act in resect of the State of Orissa is hereby published: —
ORDER NO. 6
In pursuance of section 8 of the Delimitation Act 1972 (76 of 1972), we hereby determine, on the basis of the latest census figures, having regard to the provisions of articles 81, 170, 330 and 332 of the Constitution, the number of seats in the House of the People to be allocated to the State of Orissa as twenty-one (21) of which 3 seats shall be reserved for the Scheduled Castes and 5 seats for the Scheduled Tribes and the total number of seats to be assigned to the Legislative Assembly of the State as one hundred and forty- seven (147) of which 22 seats shall be reserved for the Scheduled Castes and 34 for the Scheduled Tribes.
