CENTRAL EXCISES
New Delhi, the 1st November 1973
G.S.R. 484(E) —In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) and In supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Depart- ment of Revenue and Insurance) No. 188/73-Central Excises, dated the 1st October, 1973, the Central Government hereby fixes a tariff value of two hundred and sixty rupees per quintal for sugar falling under sub-item (1) of Item No. 1 of the First Schedule to the said Act and chargeable with' duty ad valorem.
Provided that nothing contained in this notification shall apply to sugar re- quired by the Central Government to be sold under clause (f) of sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955).

ERRATA
In the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) Notification No. 73-Sec./ SPL/6/15, dated the 20th September, 1973 published at pages 1375—1381 in the Gazette of India Extraordinary, part II—Section 3—sub-section (1) aa Issue No. 233 dated the 20th September, 1973, the following corrections are to be made:—
At page 1378—
(1) Substitute the word 'other' for the word 'the' occurring between the words 'All' and 'posts' under para 5(b)(4).
(2) Substitute the figure '24' for the figure '34' occurring under Para 6.
At page 1380—
(1) Insert the word 'Special' after the "words 'Railway Protection' occurring in the heading of Col. 4 in Schedule II.
(2) Substitute the words 'All members of the Force' for the word 'Do.' appearing against SI. No. 2(d) under the heading 'Deputy Chief Security Officer' in Schedule II.
