New Delhi, the 20th December 1973
S.R.O. 25-E.—In exercise of the power conferred by sub-section (1) of section 2 of the Armed Forces (Emergency Duties) Act, 1947 (15 of 1947), the Central Government hereby declares every service forming part of or connected with the maintenance of and running of trains on Northern and South Eastern Railways in the States of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Orissa and in the Union territory of Delhi to be a service of vital importance to the community.
